Abstract: The shrines dedicated to Bixia Yuanjun along both banks of the Qi River in Linzhou,Henan, constitute a relatively well-preserved spatial complex of Bixia Yuanjun worship in Henan Province.Its formation stems from locals’comprehensive understanding and interpretation of the deity’s spiritual cultivation,as well as profound integration with the natural geography and miraculous legends of the Qi River basin,jointly forming an inheritance-and-derivation belief system.Notably,the mural Procession Departure and Return of Bixia Yuanjun inside the stone hall boasts extraordinary artistic excellence.No other intact linear engraved murals themed on Bixia Yuanjun have been discovered across Shandong Province and northern China,nor has this artwork been documented in existing publications.It possesses profound historical,artistic and religious values,reflecting the aesthetic depiction and distribution of divine deeds of Bixia Yuanjun in northern Henan during the Ming dynasty.
